Riftbound: Radiance — Preview-Season Liquidity Checklist
Riftbound: Radiance is in preview season now, with a worldwide release locked for October 23, 2026. Riot’s Games Press briefing (September 25/26, 2026) and the Star City Games 2026 schedule agree on the wide-release date; preview windows are cited as starting September 25 (Games Press) / September 28 (SCG) through October 9.
This is not a spoiler dump. It is a liquidity checklist for collectors deciding how much sealed, Showcase, and chase paper to carry into Pre-Rift and launch week — without inventing print runs, pack odds beyond what Riot stated, or secondary comps.
Confirmed calendar (cite, don’t invent)
- Previews: September 25–October 9, 2026 (Games Press); SCG lists preview season September 28–October 9.
- Pre-Rift events: October 16–22 at local stores; Pre-Rift Kits include five Radiance boosters plus a seeded Pre-Rift pack for each of the nine new Legends; Heimerdinger, Academy Instructor promo while supplies last (Games Press).
- Wide release: October 23, 2026 in English, French, and Simplified Chinese — first set to launch in all three at once (Games Press).
- Summoner Skirmish: begins November 9 and December 14 (Games Press).
What Riot actually put on the collectible table
Per the Radiance press release:
- ~180-card set with nine new Legends (including newly highlighted K’Sante) and mechanics Deploy, Show Off, and Disarm; Equipment Units, Bomb tokens; Neeko as the first neutral-domain champion unit.
- Collector chase layers: Overnumbered Legends variants, Heartsteel Overnumbers, Special Alt Art in the Vendetta Crystal Rose lineage, and Radiance’s second Ultimate Rare — stated to appear in fewer than 0.025% of packs.
- New Collector’s Binder product for storage/display.
That Ultimate Rare rate is an official scarcity claim. It is not a market price. Do not convert “<0.025%” into a dollar target without completed sales after launch.
Liquidity-first stance for preview season
- Separate play demand from chase demand. Pre-Rift kits and constructed Legends drive play liquidity; Ultimate Rares and Showcase ladders drive speculative heat. Budget them separately.
- Pre-Rift is information, not inventory alpha. Seeded Legend packs teach you what is desirable; they do not prove secondary depth two weeks later.
- Respect simultaneous EN/FR/ZH launch. Multi-language day-one supply can dampen early EN-only scarcity narratives. Watch actual list depth after October 23 — do not invent it now.
- Binder product ≠ binder strategy. Riot’s Collector’s Binder is a SKU. Your Card Core-style inventory system is still the durable ledger when sealed boxes move and singles fragment.
- Cross-check drop heat. Same week as MTG Reality Fracture prerelease/release traffic — capital is finite. See our related drop radar and liquidity framework posts.
For how platform vault rails differ from physical TCG inventory, keep Coinbase Packed trading cards in the “ephemeral vault vs durable binder” mental model.
Bottom line
Radiance’s calendar and chase structure are public. Early secondary prices are not. Buy for the Legends and formats you will play or display; size speculative Showcase/Ultimate Rare exposure only after you see real completed sales — not preview Twitter.
