Registration opened May 18 at 9 AM PST and closes May 20 at 9 AM PST. Selected users will begin receiving emails starting May 25, and fulfilled orders are expected to begin shipping mid-June.

Unleashed Booster Display

Unleashed is the newest major set in the restock and adds a new mechanic: XP. Riot says the Unleashed Booster Display contains 24 14-card booster packs pulling from over 220 cards with 50+ Showcase cards, also priced at $119.99 / €127.99 plus shipping and handling.

Unleashed is important because it shows Riot is already pushing the game forward mechanically. New cards, new Champions, new mechanics, and more showcase treatments give Riftbound the kind of evolving product cadence serious TCG players expect.

Proving Grounds

Proving Grounds is the entry point. Riot describes it as a box set designed for 2–4 players, featuring Champions like Annie, Master Yi, Lux, and Garen, with everything needed to start learning and playing. It is priced at $29.99 / €31.99 plus shipping and handling.

For new players, this may be the smartest pickup. Booster displays are exciting, but Proving Grounds is what gets people actually playing.

How the Drawing Works

Riot has moved away from a conventional first-come, first-served release model for these preorder/restock windows. Instead, users enter during a 48-hour window for the opportunity to purchase. If selected, they receive a purchase link by email and have a 24-hour window to complete checkout. Riot says the drawing is random, with added checks to identify real accounts and filter fraudulent behavior.

4. Proving Grounds — best for new players or families who actually want to learn the game.

For pure collecting, Origins feels like the cleanest sealed hold. For playing, Unleashed and Proving Grounds may be more immediately useful.

Final Thoughts

Riftbound is entering the part of the TCG lifecycle where hype becomes pressure.
