Collector Liquidity Framework: Exit Paths Before the Hype

Hype cycles sell the entry. Liquidity frameworks sell the exit. Card Core’s collector stance for late September 2026 is simple: name your exit path before you name your thesis — whether that thesis is a sealed ETB, a Reality Fracture Collector Booster, a Radiance Showcase chase, a PSA submission, or a Coinbase Packed vault pull.

The five exit paths (pick one primary)

1. Play / open — Value is utility and entertainment. Liquidity is secondary.
2. Retail / LGS buy list — Fast, discounted, reliable for common sealed and staples.
3. Public marketplace — Highest price discovery; highest fees, shipping, and time-to-cash.
4. Private trade / community — Relationship liquidity; weak paper trail if you skip documentation.
5. Platform quote — Proprietary FMV rails (see Packed’s FAQ/Terms): convenient, opaque, policy-gated. Treat as a clearing quote, not a universal fair price.

Bubble / liquidity checklist before you buy

• Cost basis written down — Cash paid, fees, tax if relevant.
• Primary exit named — One of the five paths above, with a realistic venue.
• Time budget — Days to sell raw vs months in a grading queue (see our PSA Standard backlog math).
• Supply narrative checked against primary sources — Publisher reprint statements, official set articles, press kits — not Discord screenshots.
• SKU identity confirmed — Raw vs graded, language, product configuration (Play vs Collector, ETB vs booster box).
• Inventory home — Durable binder/ledger vs ephemeral vault caps (Packed’s documented short vault window is the cautionary tale).

What this framework refuses to do

• Invent “fair” secondary prices.
• Project print runs Pokémon or Riot did not publish.
